Da Vinci Robotic Surgery is available at Sin
gapore Mount Elizabeth Hospital for treatment of prostate cancer. Da Vinci’s operating system is the latest breakthrough that allows the surgeon to get a picture of 3-dimensional and up to 10-fold magnification.
This system works by using high strength micro cameras, placed at the telescope and placed in a thin tube into the patient’s body.
Da Vinci robot operated on a patient, and driven by the physician. Da Vinci robot has three arms, shaped tube, which serves as a one-handed right-handed, one hand serves as the left hand and one hand serves for the camera .. Sometimes one arm longer necessary to assist operations such as shifting of other organs that block.
Operations using the Da Vinci robot can reduce the errors that often occur in conventional surgery. It also can shorten the operating time of 9 hours (conventional surgery) to only 3-4 hours, said Dr. James Tan.
Another advantage is that only a scar 6 holes for the lock (key hole) around the abdomen. Comparing with conventional surgery that cut through the abdomen from left to right. Certainly will leave a long scar and difficult to remove.
Therapeutic Benign Prostate hyperplasia (BPH)
It took half a century for men to have an enlarged prostate. Some men by age 50 years and over will have an enlarged prostate known as benign prostate hyperplasia.
Symptoms include frequent urination, especially at night, the desire to urinate comes on suddenly, must impose when urinating, a feeling that the bladder is never empty, pain or burning sensation, urine leaks, and weak urine flow.
Dr. James Tan provides a new solution in treating BPH. The solution in question is PVP or Photoselective Vaporization of the Prostate with GreenLight Laser System. GreenLight Laser System is a “green laser” high-powered that rapidly vaporize and precisely remove enlarged prostate tissue. PVP can free you from urinary problems without compromising lifestyle or health.
Reduce Risk of Prostate Problems
Dr. James reveals that all men will be exposed to prostate problems in old age. However, do not worry because the risk of the disease can be reduced. Here are some tips to reduce the risk of prostate problems, among others:
